Sticky Fluent is an English-learning app made by an independent developer. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: hello@stickyfluent.com.
What we collect
Your email, when you sign in with Google. We ask Google only for your email address — not your contacts, files or anything else.
Level test: you can take it without an account. Until you sign in, your answers and result stay in your browser on this device, together with the page and source you came from (a cookie for 30 days). When you sign in with Google, the result moves to your account.
Your learning data: the words and cards you save, your progress, level test results and settings. This is what makes your decks work on every device.
A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in on this device for up to a year. It is used only to sign you in — no tracking, no ads.
Technical data: Cloudflare, our hosting provider, sees your IP address and request details, like on any website, and keeps server logs. If a sign-in attempt fails, we store that IP address in our database to block repeated guessing, until we clear that list.
Website visit counts: on stickyfluent.com we count visits and button clicks per page and per source (for example “TikTok” or “Pinterest”). The counts are anonymous daily totals. Your browser keeps a random visitor ID and the source you came from, so we can tell which page led to a sign-up or a purchase. When paid plans launch, we'll also record each purchase separately (page, source, campaign, plan, amount) — the purchase record itself holds no name or card number.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, don't show ads and don't use advertising trackers.
Who processes data for us
Cloudflare hosts the website and the app and stores your learning data (Cloudflare D1 database).
Google handles “Sign in with Google”.
Anthropic (Claude): when you ask for a translation, our server sends the word and the sentence it's in, so Claude can write the translation. We don't send your email or user ID.
Payments: paid plans are not on sale yet. When they launch, a payment provider will process them; we'll name it here before we accept any payment. We never see or store your full card number.
Pisar for Mac
Speech is turned into text on your Mac. English output and text clean-up need a translation service you connect with your own key (DeepL, OpenAI or Anthropic); only the text is sent there, directly from your Mac. If you connect Pisar to your Sticky Fluent account, words you look up are sent there and become cards. Your licence key is checked with the store where you bought it (Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad), and the speech model is downloaded once from Hugging Face — like any download, they see your IP address. Your voice never leaves your Mac.
How long we keep it
Learning data is kept while you have an account. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days. Daily visit counts are kept as anonymous totals; purchase records — as long as accounting rules require.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and everything in it — write to hello@stickyfluent.com from the email you signed in with.
You can clear the website's stored visitor ID any time by clearing site data in your browser.
Children
Sticky Fluent is not meant for children under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change how we use data, we'll update this page and the date above. For important changes we'll tell you in the app.
